Project description
The portal Organa Papyrologica presents a summary of links to papyrological databases digitised in Germany and neighbouring countries. Furthermore, information from the joint research project Halle-Leipzig "Herrscherrepräsentation und Herrscherkult in den außerägyptischen Besitzungen und Einflussgebiete der Ptolemäer (323 to 30 BC)" is accessible.
The digital multilingual online dictionary on the technical vocabulary of the administrative language of Greco-Roman-Byzantine Egypt (in short: new technical dictionary) complements the information collection. It replaces, updates and expands the 100-year-old dictionary by Friedrich Preisigke, Fachwörter des öffentlichen Verwaltungsdienstes Ägyptens: in den griechischen Papyrusurkunden der ptolemäisch-römischen Zeit, Göttingen 1915.
The aim of the Organa Papyrologica project is to create an international portal to papyrological data and tools, according to the motto: nomen est omen.
