It happens again and again that IT equipment breaks down shortly before the completion of a scientific paper or an examination. It happens from time to time that IT equipment breaks down shortly before the completion of a scientific paper or an examination assignment or other important deadlines. As the university‘s IT service provider, we would like to help with these rare but serious emergencies and provide our students with IT equipment on loan for emergencies.

Our service for you

The service offers users:

  • Individual loan of notebooks (against a loan slip).
  • Loan period: 1 to 2 months

Please note the following important information for the loan and return of IT equipment:

  1. Please return the borrowed IT equipment without being asked.
  2. Please note that the notebook will be freshly installed after it is returned. This means that all data still on the device will be deleted.
  3. If the device is defective or lost, please report this immediately to the University Computer Centre.

The service is free of charge.

PREREQUISITES

The service can be used by:

  • Students with a currently valid personal university login, who are enrolled during the loan period and who are in justified need

The use of the service requires compliance with the following regulations:

  • For all services of the University Computer Centre, the IuK usage regulations of the University Computer Centre of the University of Leipzig apply in principle. Misuse of services of the University Computer Centre may lead to the termination of the usage permit and, if applicable, to criminal proceedings.
