The web conferencing system of Leipzig University offers the possibility to hold audio and video conferences and has basic features such as an integrated public and private chat, a shared whiteboard and the possibility to share presentations, videos or your own screen. Also use the integrated polling tool to activate your participants or the shared notes for collaborative work.

Our service for you

The service offers users:

  • functionalities for audio and video transmission
  • screen presentation
  • chat function
  • Up to 16 virtual group rooms (breakout rooms)
  • Optimal use with up to 25 participants with audio/video transmission or up to 250 participants with one/few presenters (audio/video transmission)
  • Drawing, shared whiteboard, shared notes, participant status, surveys
  • Time limit: 300 minutes (after that the respective conference is switched off)

Options

If you use Moodle, you can integrate a video conference directly as an activity in your course.

PREREQUISITES

The service can be used by:

  • Students, lecturers and staff with a currently valid personal university login.
  • General internet connection
  • web browser
  • a powerful terminal device
  • a headset (loudspeaker/microphone)
  • a webcam

The use of the service requires compliance with the following regulations:

  • For all services of the University Computer Centre, the IuK usage regulations of the University Computer Centre of the University of Leipzig apply in principle. Misuse of services of the University Computer Centre may lead to the termination of the usage permit and, if applicable, to criminal proceedings.
