How can I enter, digitise, transcribe, translate data?

You want to merge or digitally manage your collected data? Digital data management is particularly recommended for literature data.

Citavi is a programme for literature management and knowledge organisation. Many students use Citavi when writing term papers and theses, researchers often use the programme when working on scientific publications.

How can I secure and manage research data appropriately?

Do you want to store your collected research data securely and in compliance with data protection regulations? Various storage options are available for different storage purposes. Both personal storage for sole processing and storage locations for working groups and virtual servers can be used for this purpose.

The service “Personal storage space (home drive)” offers you personal online storage at Leipzig University for storing files of all kinds. Access is only possible personally and not for third parties. By storing your files on Leipzig University‛s home drive, they are available online at any time on connected end devices.

Service “Personal storage space (home drive)”

The storage space for working groups provides a shared storage space for storing large quantities of shared documents in a wide range of file formats with access for authorised members of Leipzig University. The drive can be used from the university network or via VPN for those involved in the department/workgroup.

The University Computer Centre offers faculties and institutions of the University of Leipzig virtualised servers for their own IT services. These can be configured according to requirements in terms of CPU, RAM and hard disk space, etc. Working with virtual machines is almost like having the computer in front of you. However, you do not need to use your own hardware. Most virtual servers realised so far are special web servers that could not be accommodated on the central web server, such as project servers, groupware servers e.g. for Alfresco, institute servers for file service, application provision, learning environments e.g. for special Moodle installations. In addition, there is a whole series of infrastructure servers (authorisation, proxy, etc.) of the university computer centre, the university library and other institutions, which are now realised as virtual servers.
